Of course every physician’s office says it has caring and compassionate staff, but do they enjoy their jobs and even have a good time with the patients? We do! We are committed to serving your needs and making your visit to this office as pleasant as possible. Of course, we don’t think cancer is funny, but we do believe laughter is good medicine, so you’ll hear a lot of it in within our walls.

Physician offices tend to have a great deal of turnover and burnout, especially in oncology practices. But at our office, you’ll see the same smiling faces each time. One medical assistant, Marge Bailey, has been with the practice since it began in 1989 and those employees who leave usually are retiring and NOT just moving to another job. The staff is committed for the long haul. Each knows her/his job well and considers it a privilege to care for cancer patients and their caregivers.

Every fall, the staff dresses up for two days and throws a party for all the patients. Often we do themed costumes, such as Alice in Wonderland in the photo below. Our patients have been treated to chemo given by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Blues Brothers and even Tonto and the Lone Ranger.

At Christmas time, we don’t just decorate the office, we add live holiday music as Dr. Hirsh entertains on the keyboard in the chemo room.

We celebrate with you when you finish treatment—chemo corsages, dancing animals and singing characters (you’ll love James Brown crooning “I feel good!”) We try to explain things clearly, encourage you to ask questions and cheer you on every step of the way.

You don’t have to take our word though. We hope you’ll ask around town about us as we have a well- deserved reputation as highly professional and passionately caring (not to mention really good chemo room snacks!).
